The Free Knowledge, Free Technology 2008 Conference will host two co-organised sessions within the track dedicated to Free Knowledge and Free Technologies in public bodies. For these sessions we count with the invaluable collaboration of two institutions that promote the use of Free Software and Open Standards in governmental organisations: IDABC and CENATIC.
IDABC stands for Interoperable Delivery of European eGovernment Services to public Administrations, Businesses and Citizens. The main activities of IDABC are the development of eGovernment services at a European level and the interoperability of telematic networks in European institutions and between Member States.
CENATIC is the Spanish National Reference Centre for the Application of Open Source Information and Communication Technologies. Its main objective is promoting the understanding and use of Open Source software in all areas of society, and it is open to the participation of public bodies, companies, R&D groups, users and developers.
